That is plainly STUPID why on earth would you cut him?
just my opinion, of course - if you have a part of your game that needs improvement, you work on it - BUT that's just me
maybe you'd cut him - I'd help make him a better kicker |
Don't hate, SJ, he got you. |

Next season we WILL have a kicker that can kick FGs AND hit deep kickoffs
Forbath will be that guy ONLY if he finds a way to kick the ball better off the tee
c'mon Kai - we need you to improve on these kicks
ESPECIALLY if we continue to score points and have more kickoffs |
no way. Forbath is worth his weight in gold. |

| Forbath set the record for most field goals in a row for a rookie. He is a Pro Bowler IMHO. Hail cobra kai! |

no worries here
I'm loving this kicker
I just don't agree with those here that think that Danny and Mike do NOT want him to put his kickoffs deep OR into the end zone
THAT just doesn't make much sense to me |

I'd rather have a guy that can put 3's up on the board consistently than one who can kick it out of the endzone. When is the last time we had a reliable kicker? Forbath can probably work on kicking them deeper, but if he still cannot kick them deep next year, oh well. |

“It shows you what type of guy he is,” Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said. “He came in [Week 6 for a workout] competition from a couple of veterans, and won the competition. It’s always kind of nice to take a chance on a guy that hasn’t had an opportunity in the National Football League. … To see a guy that handles himself the right way have that type of success, you are always rooting for a guy like that. He’s a class guy. It looks like he has ice in his veins, and he believes that he is going to make every kick, and he has.”
Forbath said he pushed thoughts of the potential record out of his head, and maintained the same even keel with which he approaches his games and kicks.
But he admitted that on a windy day, his kicks caused a bit more anxiety as they traveled through the air.
“Well, today, me and Sav both kind of watched them for a little bit longer because of the wind that was holding it up a little bit,” he said. “I got nervous on the first one. I thought it might come up short. We did it like normal today. We didn’t react differently. Kind of in the back of our minds, we knew what was going on, but we didn’t make that an issue, and didn’t try to do anything different.”

hah. I think SJ knew I was giving him a hard time on that one.
I don't know what kind of deal Kai is on, but let's lock him up, and they can spend all offseason working on banging those kickoffs out the back of the end zone.
A franchise QB AND a reliable kicker in the same year. Christmas miracle. |

not only those guys ... riggofan - how 'bout the deal that brought in Alfred Morris
AND
the great job by our FO this past draft
we are really very fortunate
I TOTALLY agree - let's lock Forbath in to be THE kicker here for many years
AND
for those here that think Danny & Mike REALLY do want Forbath to keep his kickoffs short
it's all good ... |

speaking of which - we can sign him at any time to a new deal .. right?
this kid's a keeper for sure ...
as long as his FGs are, it should not be a problem to get more distance off a tee |
