Why would anyone want pad his posts?

Well, I think the posts should be padded in case someone runs into one. Of course, it's not like the good ole days when the goal posts were smack on the goal-line.

And there were two on each goal line. Shocked

There are ONLY 2 things that a kicker needs to do

ONLY 2

kickoffs have to be deep or through the end zone

AND - MOST IMPORTANT ...

NEVER, EVER miss an extra point

Forbath is NOT a good kicker

Please! You can't call a block a miss. In my mind Forbath has been perfect.

6 for 6 for FGs overall and in today's weather kicking 40 yarders and kicking last week in the windy Met stadium. Not bad.

Forbath is a good kicker.

Haven't heard the explanation for the missed (lowly kicked) extra point.

would someone please look at the kick and give an honest estimate

that kick was not blocked - simply put it never got 'high enough' from impact

that is a bad kick

I'll agree that Forbath is not a bad kicker but .. he certainly needs to work on some things to be considered a 'good' kicker

I love it when fans here do not 'see' what really happens on the field ...

You people cry about everything. Kai Forbath is a good kicker thusfar. He's making Field Goals. XP was blocked. He will be the first to admit that he needs to get stronger on kickoffs. But, we can live with that. He's better than Gano & Cundiff. Cundiff kicked Touchbacks but couldn't make kicks. Same with Gano-Good. Stop whining

If you look at my post. It says lowly kicked:

The question I have is was there something wrong with the snap or hold. He did kick it low and it was blocked, but it was blocked because it was kicked low.

Funny (as in strange) that Shawn Sushiam is doing so well on yet another team. I hate it when we give up on someone and they go off to be really good elsewhere.

I'm glad we have Forbath

I'm not whining - Forbath just needs to get his kick-offs deeper or we'll bring in a kicker that can make FGs and extra points AND deep kick-offs

That's ALL a kicker has to do - if he can't do that he's not really a good kicker

Suisham does not have the leg that Forbath does and he can get the kick-offs deep

By the time Suisham was let go from the Skins, he had earned it. It's painful to see players that flop here be successful elsewhere, but what can you do? Stick with a guy that's missing 23-yard game-winning attempts?

John Keim on the extra point that was blocked

I know the special teams again had issues, but when it comes to the kicking game it’s tough to blame a coach for a placekicker who kicks way too low

thanks - Smile

I was just really pissed at the time - the kick was technically 'blocked' but as you pointed out (and I saw) the kick NEVER would have made it over the bar

I do like the fact that Forbath has done well with the FGs the past few weeks ...

HOWEVER

all this kid needs to do is kick and he apparently can kick the ball a decent distance or he would not make 40+ yard FGs

find out what it takes to kick the kick-offs deeper and do that - this is not hard to do

Suisham (for one) does not have near as good a leg as this kid ...

and he's older
