Scary, huh?
I've played guitar in a lot of productions. A little acting too. Even played Billy Flynn in Chicago once! Anyway, I had to learn A Whole New World (Song of the Year) from Aladdin (Best Original Score) so while I had the book I made sure I learned Friend Like Me and Prince Ali as well. They are awesome songs.
So one day I heard the song on shuffle and when Robin Williams said "Prince Ali" I heard myself saying "RGIII" and the rest is history.

See post above. I got a songbook for a show. Most of that stuff is not to hard to figure out for a really good player (not me - just competent). I can usually put together a pretty good fake but need a book to get the little nuances.

Thanks, zRED. I'm guessing it was a half hour a day for two weeks with rumination while sleeping off some late nights over spring break. I can be a bit of a nut I guess but it was fun, man! We said "cherry" a lot when I was growing up. Hadn't heard that one in a while.
