Getting desperate and eyeballing Tannehill....wow
| Quote: | Report: Browns eyeing QB Tannehill at No. 4 NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora reports the Browns are "thinking of selecting" Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill with the fourth overall pick next month.
Several sources tell LaCanfora the Browns are "monitoring Tannehill closely and have favorable scouting reports" on the QB. The report doesn't tell us much more than was already assumed. With four weeks to decide whether to pull the trigger on Tannehill, the Browns have no reason to show other teams anything other than serious interest. For what it's worth, ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi believes the Browns are still "leaning against" drafting Tannehill or Brandon Weeden. |

| What's sad is that they could probably get him with the #22 pick, but they are so desperate now after all their recent failures. |

| Quote: | "We're not going to go way down and make the trade we did last year," he said. "When [president] Mike Holmgren said he'd discourage a trade down, I believe he meant one that far down."
He said the Browns have identified five players they like, and that they could stay at No. 4. "But if you can go back a few spots and still get the player we want, then we'll do it." The Fab Five is believed to be largely from this group: Oklahoma State receiver Justin Blackmon, LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne, Alabama running back Trent Richardson, Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill and USC tackle Matt Kalil.
He said teams at the NFL owners meetings have already put out feelers about the fourth pick. The Rams at No. 6 are believed to like Blackmon and the Dolphins at No. 8 might like Tannehill, but it's unknown if those teams have made contact. |

The Rams have hinted st a trade up with Cleveland, if the Phins want Tannehill too. They might pick him at six.
Remember the talking heads saying the Clowns would outbid the Redskins for the #2 pick and Shanny would take Tannehill at #6 if he couldn't trade down.

I don't shed any tears. I said previously that Tannenhill is going to be a good QB in this league.
He's no RG3 or Luck, but I expect him to do very well. I like him. |

I'd say that Tannenhill has a bigger upside. He's bigger, faster, more mobile, and throws better on the run. Good for the Browns, they can let McCoy start while this kid gets ready. Maybe he pushes McCoy to get better. I do think Tannenhill is going to become a franchise QB though. |

I agree. I think Tannehill will be a success in the NFL. If we had taken him this year I'd have been OK with it, but in terms of excitment and the need to win 8 or more games next season for Shanny to continue the rebulid, we did the right thing by trading up. |
