Now they can go and sign DL Marcus Dixon and LB Erin Henderson as free agents

Anybody else concerned that completely ignoring the pass rush could be an indication that we are going to try and trade for Jason Taylor?

i wouldn't be upset with that if it was for less than a first round pick

Jason Taylor will be 34 when the season starts and appears more interested in Hollywood than football at the moment. I'd give up a 4th rounder (at most) for him.

Yeah a fourth in THIS years draft

I'd trade Brandon Lloyd for Taylor. Anxious

Henderson, Dixon, Robertson and Highsmith all went undrafted.
Imagine the possibilities.

Ron Jaworski seems to think the Redskins did a great job in this draft, for whatever that's worth.

IMO the draft is an A+ because they played the draft like a FO who respect the draft. About time.

I'm only dissapointed in the Colt Brennan pick because guys from a June Jones system don't translate to the NFL.

But I love the picks overall. And I can't wait to see JC pitch to his new wideouts.

Hail the the Redskins!

I liked the first three rounds a lot, I don't think it could have gone much better than that. I think the punter is much better than taking a mediocre player at another position, and Brennan has huge upside. The secondary guys sound like they at least have upside. Overall i give it a B+, but considering its the skins, i give it an A+

brad, what's your take on the linemen that we picked up, both the G and the DE?

Don't be to quick to condemn Brennen in a California court. Without knowing the full facts of the case, it is not possible to make an informed decision. He may very well be he low-life that some depict but he could also be a victim of a bad attorney or a bargain deal. For those of you that believe that you go to court, get a fair trial and then go home. Don't come to California. There are more closed door deals than you can possibly imagine. Your guilt or innocence is sometimes irrelevant.

That isn't exclusive to California.
Plea Bargains often have the defendant taking a plea of guilty to a charge that is not even close to the actual offense. The reason is that charges carry minimum and maximum criminal and civil penalties. To meet all of the conditions of a plea bargain, prosecutors might drop a charge of rape to a charge of breaking and entering. Without the actual court transcript for any case, there is no way of knowing exactly what happened.

I give the FO people an A for this off-season and draft. They did not go out and spend a bundle on FA's, they did not trade for an almost over-the-hill player (well known for causing internal conflict) with a huge salary and ego to match and they drafted wisely. Whether the picks work out or not is another story. But for now, I'm good!!

Hail To The Redskins!!! :httr:

I can tell you from personal experience that sometimes even the court transcript is not exactly factual.

I think they'll both be projects considering the OT is moving to OG and the DE needs to put on some weight. Rinehart sounds like he is quick for a tackle, but will need to be very quick to play OG in the NFL. He'll also need to play with better leverage at guard. He has the size and athleticism to do it though apparently. It helps he can play both though considering the mayhem that goes on with our o-line every year.

I still can't believe we got Thomas and Kelly in the 2nd round. That's pretty sweet. Davis was a nice pick-up as well. He'll flourish in this system.

Good draft, imo. At least we filled some needed positions. Two receivers and two safeties were not a big surprise for me, we were pretty thin at both positions. As far as the safeties are concerned, even if Moore and Horton don't become immediate starters, they are good for depth and will definitely boost Doughty's level of play, as Reed will know there are a couple of young guys that could take his job. Competition makes for good motivation. Durant Brooks sounds like the real deal. His contribution in the punting game and on special teams will be invaluable.

I agree with that last statement, especially since we went into last season thinking that Wade would make a successful crossover. Any chance that Rinehart's height will be detrimental to his natural ability at the Guard position? I'm reminded of Wade who primarily had a problem learning G technique due to his height.
