Gotta love how he mentions a willingness to run deep, crack the safety, block AND play special teams. Love to hear a future first round pick talk like that.

DeSean Jackson 5' 9 3/4" 169 Lbs.
Scouts Inc. rated 22nd overall

Some of his highlights are awesome. He makes a couple DB's look WEAK as he blows past or cuts in front of them.

Mario Manningham 5' 11 3/4" 180Lbs. 4.44
Scouts Inc. rated 27th overall

Devin Thomas 6' 1 7/8" 216 Lbs. 4.40 - 40

Injury concerns plus a slow 40 have moved him possibly out of the 1st round.

I have to say I haven't seen these guys much, being that I don't watch much college ball.

But from what I've seen, I like Limas Sweed the best. I like his attude, he can get them jump balls. In the videos of him, he looks like a good locker room guy too.

Manningham is moving up the boards some because, after he ran a 4.59 in the Combine, he ran a 4.38 and a 4.44 during his more recent Pro Day workout. He had a solid college career, so with his 40 times respectable again, he could enter the mix of top 3 WR's drafted.

Also, Malcolm Kelly, who some consider the best WR in the draft, is trying to convince everyone that his thigh injury from last year is completely healed, so he could fall down the boards. This could be viewed as a good development for the Skins at #21.

Personally, I like James Hardy, Kelly and Devin Thomas.

Thomas, although not a Smurf, is not the extra tall, red zone killer that the Redskins may need, but overall may be the most talented WR in the draft. He caught 79 passes for 1260 yards in 2007 and 8 TD's. He also lined up as tailback a few times, 27 rushes for 177 yds. - 6.6 avg.! He returned kicks for Mich. St also, averaging 29.1 yds on 39 KR's. He totalled 2590 all purpose yards which is 2nd best in Big 10 history.

Kelly was probably the highest rated WR on the board a month or two ago. There are questions about his thigh, which suffered a quad muscle tear. His Doctor has cleared him, but he has yet to workout for anyone, so until he does, the rumors and questions will persist. He caught 49 passes for 821 yards and 9 TD's at Oklahoma last year. The best stat - he was targeted 83 times and only had ONE drop!

Hardy is huge AND fast. In his game videos, he appears quite agile for his size (at least to me) Almost like a T.O. style WR. He ran a very impressive 4.47 40 at the Combine but his vertical was only 31.5". So at the IU Pro Day, he re-jumped an impressive 37". He was quite productive despite playing for Indiana (8th team in Big10). He caught 79 for 1125 yds. and 16 TD's! 53 of his 79 receptions went for 1st downs. Even more impressive was that 22 of his 44 3rd down receptions were converted. I'd say, with his speed and athleticism combined with his productivity in games, he is the ideal WR for the Redskins at nearly 6'7". Of course, I have no idea about his personality or work ethic, so we'll see what Cerrato and Zorn think of him.

Now that Malcolm Kelly has run a slow 4.68 - 40 and weak 32" Vertical, two key components of his appeal have been erased. At 6' 4" you would picture him going up and winning passes in the air like Randy Moss or Plax Burress. but with a 32" vertical, it seems his ability to compete for high passes in the end zone may not be one of his strengths.

The good news for the Redskins is that this may move Kelly out of the first round. It may be possible for the Skins to draft a DL in the first and still snag Kelly in the 2nd. They may have to package an extra pick to move up in the 2nd, but the price tag will not be nearly as steep now that his stock has fallen some. If Kelly isn't obtainable in the 2nd there are sure to still be several other nice options at WR still available. So our draft strategy may have just been altered.

Does anyone know anything about this guy?

Mark Bradford, WR, Stanford
Height: 6-0. Weight: 211.
Projected 40 Time: 4.52.
Combine 40 Time: 4.69.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.49.
Vertical: 41. Broad 11-1.

Projected Round: 6.

Mark Bradford put up some amazing numbers at Stanford's Pro Day. His 40 time (4.49) was solid, considering his size. But his vertical (41 inches) and broad jumps (11'1") were a spectacular sight. http://walterfootball.com/draftproday.php

His Vertical of 41 puts Kelly's 32 to shame, and he is only projeted to be a 6th rounder.

Draft countdown gives his 40 time as 4.68 & specifically mentions that as his biggest minus. In his Sr yr he caught 51 passes for 642 ydsd & 3 TD's. He doesn't appear to be the RZ threat we're looking for & wasn't overly productive in college.

Bradford isn't likely to be drafted until the 5th or 6th round, but I like him. He's got a reputation for very solid character and for having better game speed than his 40 time shows. Also great route running and work ethic. Would be nice depth for the team.

Manningham admitted to smoking pot 2 years ago, although he lied about it in some of the interviews at the combine. He came out on his own and admitted he wasn't truthful when originally asked. Calvin Johnson and Amobi Okoye also admitted to smoking pot in college as well. Not a big deal imo. I'd bet a lot more athletes have smoked refer than would admit it. If Manningham drops to the late 2nd round, I think someone would be getting the steal of the draft. Just an opinion.

I'm just going off what some of the draft analysts have said. I've seen them break down film on Manningham and they've said he possesses the best technique and route running skills of any of the receivers coming out this year. Will he go in the 1st, 2nd or the 3rd? I have no idea. Where a player is selected in the draft doesn't always equate, production wise, at the next level. Devin Hester was a 2nd round pick. Should he have been drafted higher? Some would think so. Manningham could flourish or he could fall flat on his face, no one knows at this point and the same thing can be said about every player being drafted. I remember when everyone said Robert Gallery was a can't miss top 3 pick.

Exactly. Gained Adams also failed a drug test at the combine last season and that didn't hurt him one bit. Truth be told, Manningham didn't do anything that people all over the country don't do, especially teenagers and college kids. If the worst thing that you can say about a player is that he smoked some pot then his character isn't an issue at all imo.

I have to say...the info is intense and very helpful. I think thoug what it is going to come down on, is that fact that have to choose either a WR or a DE..We can end up with Calais and not so good WR, or with a good WR like Hardy and maybe a taclke because DE position is not that Deep. So..what is it going to be?
