Jacobs article

For the season, Jacobs has caught three passes for 37 yards—not the start to his NFL career that he had hoped. He would have liked to have been able to make a bigger contribution in 2003. Still, he realizes he’s got a lot of days ahead in his NFL career.

What is the dude not getting thrown to or just not getting open. I mean cause his Routes are clean and crisp and he is fast.
With all these fast receivers we have what is wrong??
I am pissed!

While I would like to point out that ONE year does not give any indication as to whether or not someone was a wasted pick... I think it's safe to say that so far... Jacobs has been a wasted pick.
We need to re-sign mcCants... and that just means that TJ will probably be 4th string at best again next year. Taylor does provide us with the security blanket of being able to dump Gardner next season if he can't catch the ball by then. (if we re-sign McCants) I'm sorry, but throwing a couple of nice passes on trick plays can't make me forget those stone hands that have dropped so many passes in his tenure.
I understand your pain though... we ignored needs year after year to do draft the 'best available player' and it has got us nowhere.

you know, this just hit me like a ton of bricks...... DM is a goner...front office dosen't have the smarts to resign any one who actually contributes, because we are stacked at wr, DM will be on to bigger and better things. We need to re-sign mcCants... and that just means that TJ will probably be 4th string at best again next year.

.... not a WR, but the TE is pretty highly touted
Troupe's a great TE... but we need defensive line help WAY worse... still I have seen him ranked top 10 (aound where we'll be picking) and I cringe at the thought of his name even being tossed around our war room.
Let's bring in the Fresh Prince of D.C... Will Smith.
As to the original thread topic... I pray we re-sign DM, he's our best red zone WR. 6 TDs in 26 catches... phenomenal. That's how he was his final year at Delaware State too... 18 TDs on 36 receptions!! The guy has a nose for the end zone and I think he will be economical to re-sign.
I do agree that the presence of Jacobs hurts DM's chances... I'm just hoping that the brass see his value.
