Well, I can certainly foresee 5-11 rather than 7-9 right now.
But hey, win the next game, we're 2-2, and all of a sudden we start imagining that we're an 8-8 team again. Until we look at the schedule for the second half of the season. We needed to win against the Lambs and Bungles in order to have a shot at getting to 8-8.
Right now, I'll settle for RGIII getting out of this season alive, and mentally intact. And then it might be a question of whether Dan Snyder's new found patience can be stretched to a 4th season of the Shanahan project.
A lot of questions have been answered over the last three weeks. Suddenly, my expectations have moved from 5-11, to the prospect of being disappointed if we only make it to 8-8. It's a funny old game.

hah. Thanks for pulling up this old thread! I love reading all of the "sky is falling" comments from two months ago.

this team has some major defensive issues but we also have an incredible QB that Kyle needs to use differently before he gets hurt
winning 8 games is still doable .. but Mike & the OC + DC have got to make some major adjustments in how they use the players we have
We'll win 5 games, lose 11, if RG111 stays healthy. We cannot defend against the pass. We're cooked.
Healthy RGIII, six wins. What gives, Nostradamus?

Hail to the Redskins!

No QB drafted 1st or 2nd has EVER led his team to a .500 record or better. I'd love to change that stat.
At the overly optimistic end we go 4-2 in the NFC East, 2-2 against the NFC South, 2-2 against the AFC, and 2-0 against the dregs.
We top out at 10-6.

I can't remember but didn't I say like 13-3 or some kind of crazy nonsense that only a fan would say?

1. NO: Win. I think we suprise them w/o film for them to study.
2. STL: Win. New HC, offensive scheme, defensive scheme. Too much for 1st yr.
3. Cinci: Win. I'm a Dalton fan but our D will be too much for them.
4. TB: Win. My second team needs more time.
5. ATL: Loss. Good team, good system.
6. Minn: Win. close game but we take it with a better D.
7. NYG: Loss. Only cause we are in NYC. I really think we could take both again this yr.
8. Pitt: Loss. Were in Pitt folks. Terrible towels.
9. CP: Loss. Could go either way. Newton gives us fits.
10. Bye.
11. Phili: Win. At home with crowd noise? Besides Vick will be out by then.
12. Dal: Win. Coaching and Romo. I think they struggle this yr.
13. NYG: Win. It's home. I still think we might take both games.
14. BLT: Loss. Only cause they have been good for the last 10 yrs. Depends on injuries this late in the game.
15. CL: Win. Coaching and too much D for Weeden.
16. Phili: Loss. Only cause of Crowd noise. Could take this if Vick is out.
17. Dal: Win. It's home. Crowd noise. Plus the Girls are not as good offensively this yr.
10-6 folks. Wait didn't I say I would wear my goggles? Ok, some of the games could go either way but that could be said for all the games. how about 9-7.
Anything better then 4 wins is a plus and shows the team is heading in the right direction. MS will get another yr after this to see if he can do better with RG3 in the second yr. If not who comes in? Gruden?
Good job on this one

Yes. Eerily accurate.

While I didn't give a prediction for the actual record, in a way I did predict the overall outlook of the franchise. The fact that I felt this way before our winning season says a lot. I understand some people have to see it in the win/loss column, but to those who are really paying attention... The clues were there.
Chris Luva Luva wrote:langleyparkjoe wrote:No, it definitely can't because it's already gotten better my brutha!
Sadly, too many fans don't realize how terrible the organization was. They don't understand how much work has gone into it. This franchise is not what it used to be, but at least we're no longer the laughing stock of the league. It's an organization that's viewed in a positive light now. I'm grateful for that.
Chris Luva Luva wrote:cleg wrote:I'm tired of being patient.
This is the sentiment which causes decisions that results in a need for even more patience.
Snyder most importantly cannot be impatient cus he's been a failure since buying the team. Mike wasn't here for that. Going into the third year of rebuilding an ENTIRE business... Roster, facilities, trainers, coaches, Front Office... 3 years isnt a long time.
The road to the number 1 pick gaining speed!
