Listen to this woman's eye-witness account of the accident.

I had assumed Brown was killed on impact.

This lady rolled up on the accident scene and had to beg Brent to rescue his friend from a burning car. She could hear Brown screaming for help as the fire got bigger.

In her opinion, Brent had no interest in trying to save Brown.

I have had two totally innocent friends. one killed and one hurt for life, by drunk drivers. I'm sorry, I don't consider this a "tragedy". The real tragedy is when innocent people are hurt by drunk drivers. Sorry the guy is dead, but it was also totally avoidable.

Cowboy killed in crash was sober, autopsy finds

An autopsy has found that Dallas Cowboys practice squad player Jerry Brown Jr. was sober when he was killed in a crash that led to an intoxication manslaughter charge against his teammate at the wheel.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office reported Thursday that Brown died of head and neck trauma when the vehicle overturned. He had a dislocated neck, a severely bruised spine and a blood alcohol content of 0.056 percent. That's well below the Texas drunken driving standard of 0.08 percent.

Police have said Cowboys nose guard Josh Brent, who was driving, had a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit when after the Dec. 8 crash in Irving, a Dallas suburb. He remains free on $100,000 bond.

Police say neither man was wearing a seatbelt.

Although, to be fair, if the car was BURNING...

I will try and help to the BEST of my ability...quick thinking (read book: Blink)

btw...the engine fire was small at first. GET YOUR "FRIEND" OUT of danger ASAP. But when you're drunk, you're not thinking right (no excuses....don't drive drunk)
